Water interruptions ongoing in Rooihuiskraal

"After a few days of excavation, the team has managed to expose and successfully identified a leak point. However, the welding repair work is taking longer due to the bad state of the pipe."

High-lying areas of Rooihuiskraal are still affected by water interruptions after a pipe burst earlier this week.

The Tshwane metro said in a statement that the team on-site were hard at work repairing a corroded bulk steel pipe that led to a water supply interruption.

“After a few days of excavation, the team has managed to expose and successfully identified a leak point. However, the welding repair work is taking longer due to the bad state of the pipe.”

It is not yet known when repairs will be concluded and when water supply would be fully restored.

A water tanker has been arranged and is stationed at Maraboe Street opposite the Sasol garage to supply affected residents with water.
