UPDATE: North driver denied bail after ploughing into four people

The driver was believed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time.

A man who allegedly ran over four pedestrians in the north of Pretoria, killing two, was denied bail this week.

Temba police spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi said on Wednesday that the accused was set to make another court appearance next week Monday.

“He has been charged with culpable homicide. On Monday, he was denied bail and is expected to appear before the Moretele Magistrate’s Court next week,” Moremi said.

The accused was arrested after ploughing into a group of pedestrians earlier this month in Temba.

Moremi said the driver was alleged to be under the influence of alcohol at the time.
