Gun fire warning about Lyttelton shoot

No live ammunition will be used and locals must not panic.

A message is doing the rounds to alert residents of Lyttelton that gunshots might be heard from an open field near Beauchamp Proctor Avenue.

The shots will reportedly be part of a film shoot during which weapons will be used.

According to the message, no live ammunition will be used and locals have been warned not to panic.

It also called on anyone with animals in the area to take the necessary precautions.

Filming is said to take place between 11:00 and 13:00 on Friday.

However, the validity of the message could not be confirmed by the SAPS or metro police.

Metro police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba had not commented by the time of publication.
