Moot organisation helps sterilise animals
Scar Second Chance Animal Rescue holds sterilisation days twice a month.
Moot animal welfare organisation has been helping to sterilise animals, for the past four years.
Scar Second Chance Animal Rescue holds sterilisation days twice a month in an effort to help animals in need.
One of the owners of the organisation, Mandie Surman said the sterilisations are not offered for free, but adds that it was being done at an affordable price.
“It is extremely important that a dog or cat be sterilised as soon as possible to prevent them from breeding,” she said.
Cats only cost R450 to get sterilised through their initiative.

“Leaving them to breed makes the problem bigger and these animals could end up on the street or at a shelter.”
She said their sterilisation days were sponsored by the organisation itself and Fur-Ever pet shop.
“We totally depend on donations, but we have a fantastic doctor who helps us,” she said.
The organisation’s last sterilisation day took place this past Sunday.
“The day was a huge success,” Surman said.
