Motorist catches thief inside his vehicle
“The wife quickly responded by removing his car keys from the ignition and threw them over the nursery school wall.”

Quick thinking by a 30-year-old mother in the east of Pretoria led to the arrest of a would-be car thief, when she threw the man’s car keys over a nursery school wall.
This after she allegedly caught the man red-handed trying to steal her car.
The drama began when a couple dropped off their child at the school in Ashlea Gardens on Thursday, 25 July at about 09:20, according to police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach.
“She said she saw a suspicious looking grey Nissan Micra slowly passing their car,” said Weilbach.

“Once inside the school, the woman spotted an unknown man next to their vehicle. She alerted her 37-year-old husband and together they rushed outside.”
Weilbach said they reportedly found the unknown man inside their vehicle, with their sports bag in his hand.
“The husband confronted the suspect who then bit him. The husband fought back and the suspect tried to get to his own vehicle to escape.”
“The wife quickly responded by removing his car keys from the ignition and throwing it (sic) over the nursery school’s wall.”
The suspect then decided to flee on foot.
“A taxi driver and a passer-by saw what happened and chased after the suspect.”
“They managed to apprehend him and hand him over to security officers who also responded to the incident.”
Brooklyn SAPS arrested the man who will appear in the Hatfield Community Court on a charge of attempted theft out of a motor vehicle.
