Dozens arrested in police operations in parts of Pretoria

The suspects were linked with several charges which includes hijacking, house robbery and theft of motor vehicle which commited between 2016 and 2019.

More than 200 were arrested during the Tshwane west district police’s Operation “O kae Molao” in Pretoria last week.

Among those arrested, were six men on police’s most-wanted list, police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said.

“The six were arrested by a team of detectives in Soshanguve and Mabopane during raids. The suspects were linked to several charges, including hijacking, house robbery and theft of motor vehicle between 2016 and 2019,” he said.

Other suspects were arrested for various offences which included possession of suspected stolen properties, murder, business burglary, house burglary, assault with intention to cause grievous bodily harm, theft, malicious damage to property, possession of drugs and traffic offences.

“We welcome the arrests made during the operation and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents and law enforcement agencies for their dedication in making sure that we work together to squeeze crime in all corners of Tshwane,” said Tshwane district commissioner Major-General Daniel Mthombeni.
