NEWSFLASH: One dies in R21 truck accident

“The R21 will be completely closed while authorities conduct their investigation.”

One person has died following an accident involving a truck and two other vehicles on the R21 near the Flying Saucer interchange.

The accident happened at around 13:00 on Tuesday, according to Punisher Protection Services spokesperson Capser Visser.

It involved a truck, a Toyota Fortuner and a vintage Mercedes Benz.

“Our medical response unit arrived at the scene on the R21 south near the N1 split to find two injured persons,” said Visser.

“One was seriously injured and was transported to a nearby hospital under advanced life support care.”

“The other sustained only minor injuries.”

Visser said the deceased had already been declared dead when Punisher arrived at the scene.

“The R21 will be completely closed while authorities conduct their investigation,” said Visser.

“Motorists can expect delays on the R21.”

The cause of the accident will form part of the police investigation.
