NEWSFLASH: Man critically injured in North accident
“Three more sustained serious injuries while another sustained only minor injuries.”
A head-on collision in Doreen Avenue in Akasia in the north of Pretoria on Friday evening saw one man airlifted from the scene with critical injuries.
The accident happened at around 19:45.
Paramedics arrived to find five accident victims scattered across the scene, according to Ambu-Link Ambulance Service spokesperson Xander Loubser.
“Upon assessment of the crash victims it was found one had sustained critical injuries and needed to be airlifted to hospital by HALO 1,” said Loubser.
“Three more sustained serious injuries while another sustained only minor injuries.”
The others were all transported to hospital by different emergency services.
“We would like to thank HALO Aviation for their prompt response and would like to urge motorists to adhere to the laws of the road.”
“We also want to urge motorists not to drink and drive.”
The exact cause of the accident is unknown at this time and will be investigated by authorities.
