Two arrested for ‘dagga dealing’ in CBD
"According to the informer, his contact person was waiting for a dagga delivery from Swaziland."
Two people were arrested after they were caught allegedly delivering drugs in Bosman Street in the CBD on Wednesday afternoon.
The arrests followed a tip-off, according to police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe.
“According to an informer, his contact person was waiting for a dagga delivery from Swaziland. The Tshwane district narcotics team, with other law enforcement agencies, waited patiently for the dagga to be delivered.
“A buy-and-bust strategy was arranged with the informer whereby the suspect was contacted to place an order,” she said.

Selepe said the two suspects arrived and after a signal from the informer, they were approached and searched.
“The two were found in possession of 15kg of dagga,” she said.
“The suspects were taken to their house where a search was conducted. Upon searching, two bags of dagga weighing 15kg were found inside a bucket.”
The street value of the dagga was around R20 000.
“Suspects confirmed that they were supplying dagga from Swaziland. Both suspects aged 21 and 31 years were arrested for possession of dagga,” Selepe said.
