UPDATE: North kidnap and murder accused’s case postponed
It was alleged that Tutubala forced Tshepang Kgomo (7) from his school premises to a bush and killed him.
Daniel Tutubala (32) appeared at the Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court facing two counts, one of kidnapping and one of murder.
Magistrate Lugaju said it was alleged that Tutubala had unlawfully and intentionally deprived Tshepang Kgomo (7) of his right of freedom of movement by means of forcing him from the school premises to a bush in block Y Soshanguve.
She added that “On count two, it is alleged that on 14 August 2019 at Block Y Soshanguve, you unlawfully and intentionally killed Tshepang Kgomo by strangling him with shoelaces.”
Tutubala had initially instructed his lawyer that he would abandon bail but when he appeared in front of the magistrate, he changed his mind.
The case was postponed for bail investigation and he was remanded in custody.
Tutubala will appear in the Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court on 23 August 2019.
Tutubala has a previous conviction for assault.
