Busted with bricks of dagga and cash

“Police found six bricks of dagga wrapped in brown cover and other small balls in plastic. They also found the amount of twenty thousand rand (R20 000) cash”.

A tip-off leads to the successful arrest of a man in possession of dagga and R20 000 cash.

“Temba police officers arrested a 36 year old man yesterday afternoon at around 15.00 at Bosplaas North of Pretoria for possession of dagga,” Constable Herman Moremi,” Corporate Communications for the Temba police said.

Moremi said the police were patrolling the area 23 August when they received a tip-off about a motorcycle transporting drugs.

“They spotted the suspect at Temba and when they stopped him, he sped off. They called for assistance from other sector vehicles and the vehicle responded and blocked the road at Bosplaas. The suspect was surprised to see police on the cross road next to Bosplaas filling station who ordered him to stop”.

Police searched the suspect and found a large amount of dagga and cash on him.

“Police found six bricks of dagga wrapped in brown cover and other small balls in plastic. They also found the amount of twenty thousand rand (R20 000) cash”.

The suspect was arrested immediately and will face charges of dealing in dagga and was expected to appear in the Moretele magistrate’s Court on Monday.

“The station Commander of Temba SAPS Brigadier Martha Mokobori applauded the members for the success and said it shows commitment and dedication. Two men were arrested only by following a tip off. She also encouraged the community to continue working hand in hand with the police to fight crime”.
