‘Eat, drink and give’ social hosted for retired police

The Elderly Care Fund for Retired Police serves as an NPO and has no affiliation with the Police Department and receives no financial benefit from the government.

An exciting night of socialising, together with a wine, gin and whiskey tasting was hosted by the Elderly Care Fund for retired police on Saturday. The goal was to have friends, affiliates and business associates of the fund come together to have a good time.

The event took place at the famous Bronberg Restaurant in the east of Pretoria where people could book and pay for tables, as well as take part in the wine auction later in the evening.

“We aim to raise funds to assist retired police officers who perhaps need a helping hand with either trauma counselling, social welfare, pension and many more. These guys sacrificed many years of their lives to the force, and to ensure the safety of many in the country. Now that they are older and more vulnerable, they need us to help them this time around,” says René Chidrawi, Marketing and Fundraising coordinator.

“This makes it very important for us to have regular fundraising events, and to let the public know that we operate solely off donations,” Chidrawi said.

All who attended savoured the delicious wines and snacks that were provided, with two live singers in the background to create a relaxing backdrop to the evening.
