MMC honoured at woman awards show

“This is something I am very humble to receive. It is a testament to the work our administration is doing in the city of Tshwane.

MMC Sheila Senkubuge walked away with the award of the most influential woman from an award ceremony at the weekend.
Senkubuge was nominated under the category of most influential woman in local government held on 23 August at the African Pan Awards.
“This is something I am very humble to receive. It is a testament to the work our administration is doing in the city of Tshwane.
“I see it as an award not only for myself as an individual but also to first of all to the work administration is doing in the city. We have come a long way. Especially to the department of roads and transport. We have had a number of achievements in the short time we have been in office. Our department was the first to launch automated collection in the country. We were the first municipality to launch that system. We were also the first to launch free bus services for the youth who are unemployed. Wê have also been the first to launch online booking systems for renewal of driver’s licences which province took up and followed. Our department has really made a number of strides,” Senkubuge said
