Pta swimming pools to re-open sooner than usual

The city is set to open at least 22 of its public swimming pool ahead of spring-summer.

The Tshwane metro is set to re-open 22 of its public swimming pools ahead of the usual spring-summer season.

Seven of these pools, located throughout the city, will open this Friday.

The other pools will be open to the public from 1 September 2019.

“We have prioritised the public’s safety at our swimming pools by enlisting the South African coast guard to ensure enough lifeguards are deployed,” the city said in a statement.

The swimming pool at the Moretele resort will, however, not be available to the general public on Friday 30 August, due to a music festival taking place at the resort on 31 August.

Here is the list of where the swimming pools will be opened:

  • Klip Kruisfontein
  • Fountains Valley
  • Joos Becker caravan park
  • Kwaggaspruit
  • Ga-Mothakga
  • Derdepoort
  • Moretele resort

All swimming pools will be open from 10:00 until 18:00; however, not all resorts open their pools on weekends.
