Six-year-old Amy’Leigh de Jager who was kidnapped on Monday in front of the Kollegepark primary school by four men in a white Toyota Fortuner has been found.

Six-year-old Amy’Leigh de Jager who was kidnapped on Monday in front of the Kollegepark primary school by four men in a white Toyota Fortuner has been found.

According to a family member, De Jager is safe and reunited with her parents.

“It is believed the four men dropped De Jager off in a street in Vanderbijlpark just after 2 this morning. A couple living nearby heard her crying outside and found her. They immediately took her to the police station.”

De Jager was taken to the hospital before going home with her family.

“She is doing great under the circumstances, she is happy to be reunited with her family.”

De Jager was given food by the men during the ordeal but she refused to eat food from strangers.

“She was hungry and asked for a burger and chips.”

“We are so relieved that she is unharmed and safely back with us. Her parents are still emotional and very traumatised.”

De Jager’s mother Angeline was injured in the scuffle with the men.

“She is in a lot of pain, they injured her hip and shoulder.”

Police spokesperson Brigadier Vish Naidoo confirmed De Jager was found.

Naidoo said she was undergoing a medical examination at a local Vanderbijlpark hospital.

“The investigation into her disappearance and sudden reappearance is still on-going,” Naidoo said.

“It is our appeal that this investigation be allowed to take its course.”
