West community cleans up together
“The complaints were mainly about the condition of the business area of Danville, but also other complaints of the rest of Danville,” he said

A clean-up operation was successfully launched in Danville this past weekend.
According to FF Plus councillor Ben Erasmus this operation was launched because they received several complaints from residents about the poor condition of the western parts of the Moot.
“The complaints were mainly about the condition of the business area of Danville, but also other complaints of the rest of Danville,” he said.
“We decided to do something about it.”
Erasmus said they came together in front of the SPAR on Saturday morning at 08:00.
He said they cleaned the Danville area this past weekend and especially focused on the city centre.

The condition of Danville, especially the business area, has been a concern for local residents for many years.
He said there was a group of 30 people helping to clean the area.
They picked up trash and cut the grass.
“We want to bring change in the community and to do that it is very important that we work together,” he said.
He described the day was a success.
“It was a massive success and we are planning to clean up more,” he said.
“We invite the residents of the whole neighbourhood to become a part of the clean-up program and to keep an eye on social media for the next clean-up operation dates.”
“Together we can change the final destination for our country and neighbourhood.”
This was one of only many clean-up operations that were launched in Pretoria this past weekend.
Local councillor Elma Nel and a team of residents spoke to businesses that allegedly contribute to dumping on Saturday.
“To trade in recyclable goods one must have a licence and I feel that the City must suspend these licences if these businesses do not start taking responsibility,” she said.
“They must provide the needed space on their premises for the people who sell the goods to them so that these people can sort it there instead of on the street corners.
“They must also supply toilet facilities to there clients.”
