Wierdabrug community urged to be alert

“Check that the car's doors are not jammed by testing them before you leave your vehicle."

Wierdabrug police have asked residents to be aware of their surroundings after a recent spike in crimes.

Spokesperson Captain Agnes Huma said: “We want to inform residents and motorists to prevent the crimes from escalating.”

She said online buyers always needed to verify the seller’s information was correct before transferring requested amounts of money.

She added motorists also had to be cautious of their surrounding.

Huma said theft out of motor vehicles at schools and pre-schools in the morning while rushing to drop off the children was constantly taking place.
