“The intelligence-driven operation was conducted through the assistance of Tshwane narcotic members targeting suspects dealing in drugs around Centurion and Pretoria Central areas,” Selepe said.
During the operation, four suspects aged between 27 and 35 were arrested for the possession of drugs (crystal meth, cat, nyaope and rock), in Pretoria Central and Lyttelton.
“The four appeared in court yesterday and were remanded in custody. They will appear again next Tuesday,” she said.
Selepe said the operations to clamp down on drugs and drug peddling would continue this week.
“Police visibility will be enhanced and more random stop-and-search and intelligence-driven operations will be conducted to effectively deal with crime generators to ensure that our communities are rid of drugs.”
