Three injured in taxi-SUV collision in Centurion

The driver of the minibus taxi was trapped in the wreckage.

Three people were injured when a taxi and an SUV collided in Centurion on Monday afternoon.

Netcare 911 emergency service spokesperson Shawn Herbst said the collision happened around 15:44 on Summit Road in Timsrand AH.

“Medics assessed the scene and found that the two women occupants of the SUV, both in their 40s, had suffered moderate injuries,” he said.

The driver of the minibus taxi and also the sole occupant on board, was trapped in the wreckage, said Herbst.

“The Netcare 911 specialised rescue unit, as well as the Midrand fire and rescue services, had to use hydraulic tools to free the driver.”

He said the driver suffered moderate injuries and along with the two women, were taken by various ambulance services to hospital.
