DA launch police visibility in Block XX

DA Constituency Head in Soshanguve South, Nkele Molapo will on 4 October petition the police to make themselves visible.

DA Constituency Head in Soshanguve South, Nkele Molapo will on  4 October petition the police to make themselves visible in Block XX Complex (Thorn tree).

Molapo said the police needed to make a clear commitment to reducing crime in the area.

“There is no visible policing in Soshanguve, and criminals have taken over the streets.” Said Molapo.

Molapo said they consulted the locals before they decided on the petition.

“We went to door to door and spoke to the community, they raised crime, safety and accessing a police station” as issues.

She added that she understands that there are rules about where a police station could be built.

“It might be impossible to have a police station built in the area but we can call for visible policing, at least that would reduce crime because the perpetrators would see police presence”

She added that they are hoping for more signatures before the petition is sent to police minister Bheki Cele.
