Family and friends of 46-year-old Bongi Mashaba Masimula are appealing to anyone with information to help locate their loved one.

Mashaba was last seen on 28 September leaving her house in Soshanguve Block UU in blue jeans and a maroon jacket.

Mashaba’s car was found abandoned on the R80 Mabopane Highway with her handbag inside.

Floyd Mashaba (husband), said they got married in 2010 and he was struggling to cope without his wife.

“I am very heartbroken and I do not know what to say. I cannot sleep or eat. My life is hard without her being in the house, we love and need her at home,” he said

He added that his children were also not coping without their mom home.

Sister Suzan Cholo said she was confused and did not know what to think anymore.

“We have been asking ourselves a lot of questions and we cannot find answers.”

Cholo said the car was found intact in the veld.

“The car was locked and there were no signs of it being dumped and it was locked, but the keys were not there.”

Another sister Zodwa Masimula said she was confused, angry and still asking herself what has happened to her sister.

“She always alerted us if she was going somewhere.”

She added that her sister left her phone and purse before she disappeared.

“She told the children the car had no petrol and when they asked her where she was going, she said she is coming back,” said Zodwa.

“As the family we are not coping and what worries us the most is we found her car with the handbag and we do not know how she could leave her handbag behind.”

She added that the police have been assisting them to find her.

“They came with dogs to look for her in the veld but they did not find anything. They went to mortuaries, hospitals but they did not find anything and they also took fingerprints off the car.”

Constable Portia Sebone said the police are investigating a missing person’s case.

“The matter is being investigated, there are no leads so far. The police are appealing to the community or anyone with information that might assist in locating the missing person to contact Soshanguve police.”
