UPDATE: East van robbers on the run after deadly hit
A motorist was struck by a stray bullet after he was caught in crossfire between security officers and robbers.

Police are still looking for a group of armed men who were involved in a cash-in-transit robbery that left one person dead in Silverton on Saturday.
During the robbery, a motorist was struck by a stray bullet after he was caught in the crossfire between security officers and the alleged robbers.
Police spokesperson Colonel Brenda Muridili said on Monday that no arrests had been made.
On Saturday morning, a cash van was stopped by unknown suspects driving an old model Mercedes Benz on Alwyn Street, Waltloo.

The suspects shot at the cash van and rammed into it before forcing the guards out.
Muridili said an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.
A security company vehicle arrived at the scene and exchanged fire with the robbers. A motorist was hit in the head by a stray bullet and died on the scene.
