Cerise pink rose named after ‘Glam Guru’
Style consultant Hannon Bothma has loved flowers from a young age.

Nurseries in the north of Pretoria have collaborated to create a signature cerise pink rose in honour of Hannon Botma, better known as the Glam Guru.
Garden Word and Malanseuns nursery north of Pretoria worked hand in hand for two years, to create 5 000 roses from five plants to create great the cerise pink rose was named Hannon.
“As I began to grow older, I began to think more and more about my memory. What will I leave one day that is enduring and that will continue to inspire and motivate people? One day I got the idea. A rose with my name and what my message carries can inspire people and constantly remind you that you are already enough and that you can make every occasion beautiful and special,” the Glam Guru said.
Malanseuns has various contracts with a number of specialised rose growers around the world, therefore the Hannon rose was bred in France by Malanseuns’ partner SunFlor.
Hannon picked his favourite rose two years ago, from Malanseuns’ number of new unnamed roses.
“The symbol that reminds me that I have the choice to make an opportunity every day, and where every opportunity can be as beautiful and special as I myself decide.”
Hannon said he was just a little boy when he first became aware of the power and effect of a single rose.
“My dad regularly picked a flower, sometimes a rose, somewhere and brought it to my mom. I observed as her face radiated immediately following the romantic gesture and as she studied the perfection of the flower. When I was a child, it always inspired me to constantly pick flowers, grass and leaves, arrange them in small bushes and then display them in the ordinary water glass somewhere in the house,” he said.
