North matric pupil mourned
“We hereby express our sincere and heartfelt condolences and sympathy to Natasha’s parents, family, grandparents and friends. We pray to our heavenly Father for power and comfort during this time”

The community of Pretoria North are mourning the loss of a matric pupil following her sudden death over the weekend.
Natasha Smit (17) suddenly passed away on Saturday 11 April. A blood clot entered her lungs and heart and irreparably damaged both.
Natasha’s parents, Tersia and Natie, said the fact that they can’t bury their daughter is very upsetting.
“We will hear from the funeral parlor whether we can bury her after 27 April.”
The Smits said it is especially difficult now as it is Tersia’s birthday and their wedding anniversary they must face during lockdown.
“With the lockdown rules we will have two ceremonies. One for close family and friends and one for the school.
“Our child has known and touched so many people that we know everyone who knew her would love to be there.”
Natasha’s parents will always remember her as the sunshine child who always wanted to help everyone and make them feel better about themselves.

“With her broad smile she always made people laugh and the world proverbially laugh together. We could bribe her with sweets, especially speckled eggs. Her fear of spiders was always funny even if was only a small house spider.
“Natasha was an awesome child. She was full of energy and bubbly. She will surely be missed,” Mechelle de Jager, mother of one of Natasha’s friends, Erin, said.
“She was dearly loved,” de Jager said.
Natasha’s friends said they will always remember her for her bright smile and her determination.
They described her as a girl with a majestic fashion sense with a cordless heart and who wore her heart on her sleeves.
“Our school community learned on Saturday, 11 April, of the sudden death of Natasha Smit, one of our school’s matric learners.
“There are no words to describe this tremendous sadness. Natasha’s active, sporty place in our school is empty and it is an indescribable loss.
“We hereby express our sincere and heartfelt condolences and sympathy to Natasha’s parents, family, grandparents and friends. We pray to our heavenly Father for power and comfort during this time,” the schools governing body chairman, Sean Samons, said on the schools Facebook page over the weekend.
