Three nabbed in CBD after tip-off

The police confiscated a cellphone, two laptops and two USBs estimated to cost R1 500, after conducting a search.

Three suspects have been arrested by the Central police for various crimes following a tip-off.

Two males and one female aged between 19 and 24, have been arrested in connection with possession of suspected stolen property, theft and housebreaking at Thaba Tshwane residential area at the weekend.

The suspects, found to be from the same area, were arrested on Sunday, 13 April, following a tip-off to the Central SAPS.

The police confiscated a cellphone, two laptops and two USBs estimated to cost R1 500, after conducting a search.

Central SAPS communications manager Constable Nkhumise pleaded with residents to abide by the law.

“Since the commencement of the national lockdown period, the SAPS have displayed unity in ensuring that we protect the community against crime and transmission of Covid-19,” Nkhumise said.

Nkhumise urged the community to minimise movement and report crimes on the hotline 08600-10111.

The three suspects were denied bail when they appeared in court on Tuesday.

Further investigations were expected to continue.
