Centurion accident scene deserted after bakkie rolls
“We received a report that a vehicle had lost control, veered off the road and rolled several times before coming to a stop.”
It is unclear to what extent the driver of a bakkie, which rolled in Centurion on Friday evening, was injured, according to paramedics.
Paramedics found the scene of the accident deserted, according to CERT-SA spokesperson Ruan Heyns.
“The accident happened at around 18:15 on Tulip Road in Mnandi,” said Heyns.
“We received a report that a vehicle had lost control, veered off the road and rolled several times before coming to a stop.”
However, when paramedics arrived, they could not find the driver or any passengers on the scene.
“Upon our arrival, eyewitnesses said the driver of the bakkie had been removed by a friend who was driving in a second car behind him.”
Heyns said it was unclear whether the driver was taken to hospital or what the extent of his injuries were.
“Authorities were on scene for further investigations and will search for the driver.”
However, Olievenhoutbosch police had yet to confirm whether the accident had been reported.
