North boy (5) surprised with special siren drive-by

Over the weekend a convoy of vehicles surprised a north toddler at his home with a siren drive-by.

The Sinoville Fire Fighting Association (SBBV) surprised a small boy from Sinoville in north of Pretoria with s special birthday siren drive-by recently.

This as DG van Aswegen celebrated his fifth birthday on 26 May.

Because the birthday fell under the level 4 lockdown, Leanne Stander, a friend of DG’s mother, called the Sinoville fire brigade to ask if they would help make his birthday special.

“My daughter also celebrated her birthday during the lockdown, and I saw how she longed for her friends and family. So I knew I had to help DG and his mother,” Stander told Rekord.

DG’s mother thanked everyone who helped make the day special.

“Thank you to the brigade team for their support and for helping make DG’s birthday extra special. We also want to thank them for giving DG a birthday gift. He was very excited. Thank you to Leanne for the birthday arrangements,” said DG’s mother Marlise van Aswegen.

On Saturday morning, a convoy of vehicles surprised DG at his home with a siren drive-by.

They stopped at DG’s house and showed him how the fire truck worked.

In addition to the drive-by, the fire fighters also gave DG a birthday gift.

“We hope you enjoyed the moment,” they posted on Facebook.
