The store has since re-opened this Friday after it underwent deep cleaning on Thursday.
The Dis-Chem branch in Jean Avenue, Centurion has confirmed that one of its staff members tested positive for Covid-19.
The store was closed on Thursday as it underwent decontamination and sanitisation processes, according to Dis-Chem national clinic manager Lizeth Kruger.
“Close contacts of the affected person were immediately identified, placed in self-isolation and they are being monitored,” she said.
“We have ensured that the risk of infection has a limited transmission to anyone else, thanks to the rigorous preventative health and safety protocols we have implemented.”

“These include daily temperature checks, social distancing, the use of masks, deep cleaning of the entire store with special attention to high-touch areas, sanitiser and protective Perspex sheets at tills. In addition, full professional decontamination and sanitisation of the store will be completed.”
