“This weekly operation is really bearing fruit.”
Mthombeni said a person was arrested for possession of ammunition on Tuesday during a roadblock on the R21 just outside the Pretoria CBD.

“Around 12 600 tickets were issued up until now,” he said.
Regarding the issue of gender-based violence, Mthombeni said police, with the Department of Health, were on board.
“Out of the 182 arrests we made last night 22 of them were related to gender-based violence. We are also handing out pamphlets to motorists and also interacting with them to raise awareness.”
During the operation, we are also on the lookout for hijacked or stolen cars and delivery of illegal goods, Mthombeni said.
