Afrikaans singer tests positive for Covid-19

Van Jaarsveld announced her positive results on Facebook on Saturday evening, saying she would go into self-isolation.

Well-known Afrikaans singer Karlien van Jaarsveld has tested positive for Covid-19.

The singer posted her results on Facebook on Saturday evening, saying that she would be self-isolating in her spare room.

“It saddens me not to be able to sleep with my baby and he doesn’t understand it either,” Van Jaarsveld said in the post.

“But praise God who is in everything we endure.”

Van Jaarsveld said her husband, Joe Breytenbach, would get to “bond” with the children in the meantime.

“Now he can see our baby hasn’t been sleeping through the night from day one,” she posted.

Van Jaarsveld said her first and only symptom was fatigue.

“Other than that, I have flu symptoms and am okay,” she said.

“I almost thought I was pregnant again.”

Van Jaarsveld urged her followers not to feel sorry for her, saying there were others who needed more help.

“Now my immune system can build resistance to this virus.”
