Gauteng reaches 168 369 Covid-19 cases
The overall provincial daily recorded cases have been low this week.

Gauteng has 168 369 Covid-19 positive cases as of Wednesday, according to statistics published by the health department.
The overall tally of recoveries stood at 106 360 with 106 360 recoveries and a total of 1 836 deaths thus far.
The department reported on Thursday that, out of 75 937 contacts traced (individuals who were in contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19), 55 004 people have completed the 14 days monitoring period, with no symptoms, reported and were de-isolated.
The department said 5 476 people were currently hospitalised in public and private facilities.
Breakdown per district of cases and recoveries:
– Johannesburg: 70 330 cases and 48 839 recoveries
– Ekurhuleni: 37 678 and 29 416 recoveries
– Tshwane: 33 017 cases and 16 147 recoveries
– Sedibeng: 10 722 cases and 4 362 recoveries
– West Rand: 11 059 cases and 7 596 recoveries
