Pretoria Covid-19 cases climb to 33 017

Almost a thousand new cases recorded on Wednesday in the region.

On Wednesday, Pretoria recorded 981 new Covid-19 positive recorded cases, according to statistics published by the Department of Health.

The total number of cases now stands at 33 017.

The region has recorded 16 147 recoveries and 373 virus-related deaths thus far.

The breakdown was as follows:

City of Tshwane (33 017 cases) breakdown:

– City of Tshwane 1: Ga-Rankuwa, Mabopane, Winterveldt, Soshanguve, Rosslyn, Karen Park, Wonderboom, Akasia, Nina Park, Orchards, Amandasig, Theresa Park, Pretoria North (7 238 cases and 3 769 recoveries);

– City of Tshwane 2: Hammanskraal, Temba, Suurman, Dilopye, Stinkwater, Ramotse, New Eersterust, Kameeldrift, Pyramid/Rooiwal, Doornpoort, Kekana Gardens, Marokolong, Randstown, Kanana (2 370 cases and 753 recoveries);

– City of Tshwane 3: Atteridgeville, Laudium, Pretoria CBD, Hercules, Danville, Saulsville, Lotus Gardens, Pretoria West (10 214 cases and 6 069 recoveries);

– City of Tshwane 4: Lyttelton, Eldoraigne, Waterkloof, Olievenhoutbosch, Rooihuiskraal, Centurion, Brooklyn, Hatfield (5 433 cases and 2 497 recoveries)

– City of Tshwane 5: East Lynne, Rayton, Cullinan, Dewagensdrift, Refilwe, Silverton, Onverwacht (666 cases and 173 recoveries);

– City of Tshwane 6: Eersterust, Lethabong, Mamelodi, Silver Lakes, Garsfontein, Lynnwood, Queenswood, Wilgers, Waltloo, Equestria, Mooikloof, Brummeria (6 272 cases and 2 627 recoveries); and

– City of Tshwane 7: Ekangala, Sokhulumi, Dark City, Zithobeni, Bronkhorstspruit, Kanana, Rethabiseng (714 cases and 259 recoveries).

On the repeated areas in the stats, the department has not yet clarified on why these suburbs were mentioned more than once.
