East woman ‘crushed’ between vehicle and gate
The woman was reportedly opening the gate when her vehicle’s handbrake failed, causing the vehicle to roll forward.
A woman (38) was seriously injured when she got pinned between her car and a gate in Elardus Park, east of Pretoria on Monday.
Upon arrival, medics found that the woman had been “crushed” after her car rolled forward, pinning her against the driveway gate, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst.
“The patient was in a serious condition and required advanced life support intervention to stabilise her. Due to the nature of her injuries, a Netcare helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift her to a specialist facility for further treatment,” he said.
