Man killed, two women injured as car hits tree Centurion

The 29-year-old man was found in the driver’s seat while two women were walking around.

A man was killed and two women were injured when a vehicle crashed into a tree in Centurion on Friday.

ER24 emergency service spokesperson Russel Meiring said the crash happened on the N1 highway near the R21 in Pierre van Ryneveld.

“Medics arrived on the scene to find the vehicle on the side of the road against a tree. A 29-year-old man was found in the driver’s seat while two women were walking around,” he said.

Meiring said the man was found to have succumbed to his numerous injuries when medics assessed him.

“Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead. “The two women, aged 18 and 19, were assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries,” Meiring said.

“They were treated and thereafter taken to Tembisa provincial hospital,” he said.  

The cause of the crash was still being investigated.
