
Gauteng’s overall Covid-19 positive cases climbed to 223 169 with 199 116 recoveries and 4 461 deaths thus far, according to figures published by the Department of Health.
This saw the province with about 19 592 active cases.
The Gauteng province recorded 164 new cases on Monday.
The Department of Health said out of 143 997 contacts traced (individuals who were in contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19), 126 308 people have completed the 10 days monitoring period, with no symptoms reported and were de-isolated.
The number of hospitalised people due to Covid-19 in the province stood at 1 829.

– Ekurhuleni: 49 974 cases and 48 645 recoveries
– Tshwane: 49 939 cases and 43 396 recoveries
