Elderly man falls through roof at east construction site

The 65-year-old man was airlifted to a Johannesburg hospital.

A 65-year-old man fell through the roof at a construction site in Erasmuskloof, east of Pretoria, on Tuesday afternoon.

“He fell around 2.5m and landed on his back,” Netcare 911 emergency services spokesperson Shawn Herbst said.

The elderly man, however, was understood to have been in a stable condition albeit having sustained neurogenic shock.

“We airlifted him to Sunnighill,” Herbst said, adding their chopper landed at the corner of Lois Street and Solomon Mahlangu Drive.
