Almost 400 people were arrested in multi-disciplinary operations held throughout Tshwane by police at the weekend.

A variety of crimes committed included murder; armed robbery; rape; housebreaking and theft; possession of suspected stolen property; malicious damage to property; assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm; reckless and negligent driving; theft of motor vehicle; illegal possession of firearm and ammunition; house robbery; possession of drugs; dealing in drugs; dealing in liquor without a licence and public drinking.
They were expected to appear in court soon.
In a separate incident, Mabusela said four men – who were allegedly linked to a vehicle theft syndicate that specialised in stealing Toyota vehicles in the Moreletapark area, east of Pretoria – were arrested.

“They were found in possession of suspected stolen computer boxes and car breaking equipment,” he said.
The matter was being investigated by Garsfontein police.
Meanwhile, Wierdabrug police were lauded for securing an 18 year sentence for a house robbery suspect.
“Leonard Chauke was handed down his sentence on Wednesday, 27 October,” Mabusela said, adding his accomplice Patrick Sithole Madakweni was sentenced for 15 years in 2019 and was already serving his sentence in prison.
Mabusela further said police disposed of 1 465 766ml of various brands of alcohol at the Daspoort wastewater treatment plant in Marabastad on Friday.
Tshwane district commissioner Major General Hilda Mohajane said a zero tolerance approach would be applied when they were dealing with criminals.
Mohajane also reassured residents that they would be out in their numbers to protect and serve them, not only during the festive season, but also in future.
