Heavy downpours predicted in Pretoria this week

A high of 23°C has been predicted for Pretoria on Thursday, with an 80% chance of rain.

The SA Weather Service have issued a watch for heavy rain on Wednesday and Thursday for Pretoria.

On Sunday morning, heavy rains turned roads into rivers in some parts of Centurion.

SA weather service forecaster Tokelo Chiloane told Rekord on Tuesday, that heavy downpours and strong winds were expected later this week.

“Today, we are looking at a 30% chance of rain late in the afternoon.

“For tomorrow, we predict a 60% chance of isolated showers and thundershowers with temperatures reaching 27°C,” she said.

Chiloane said that the rain would continue into Thursday.

“A high of 23°C has been predicted for Pretoria on Thursday, with an 80% chance of rain.

“We are expecting the weather to clear by Friday,” she said.
