#NotInMyName head offices broken into
"This comes after a few weeks after our head of communications was held at gun point by a coward who told her to stop working for #NotInMyName"
#NotInMyName believes that the weekend burglary at their Hatfield head offices was part of a campaign to “intimidate” the organisation.
The burglary follows an alleged incident several weeks ago, in which the organisation’s communications head was reportedly held at gunpoint in the Pretoria CBD by a “coward” who told her to stop working for #NotInMyName, according to the organisation’s secretary general Themba Masango.
“We believe the two incidents are linked,” he claimed.

According to Masango, two laptops with sensitive information about cases they are busy with were taken during the incident and nothing else.
Masango said one laptop belonged to him while the other was that of the communications head.
“We only noticed that our offices had been broken into on Saturday morning. Strangely nothing else was taken. There were televisions, printers and other things the burglars could have taken, but they did not.

“We are hopeful that the perpetrators will be found. We will continue to do our work and be a voice for the voiceless of majority of our country. We will be a vanguard for the marginalised on those who feel that they need assistance from our movement. We will not be deflected from doing what is right.”
Police spokesperson Captain Daniel Mavimbela confirmed a case of housebreaking and theft was reported at Sunnyside on Monday, but no arrests have been made.
