Debut single for Lion King’s Rafiki

25-year-old Pretoria resident also appears in the stage production of The Lion King in London.

A 25-year-old born and bred Pretoria resident, who plays Rafiki in the stage production of The Lion King in London, has recently released her first music single.

“Music is a language of emotion and truth so I am glad I can provide that to people,” said Keitumetse Molea of her debut single, Take Me Home.

The performer, who has been singing her whole life, said she was ecstatic to have been able to release her single, as she believes music can bring people together.

It was fulfilling that she was able to share her passion through this single as it was about love and home – as home means many different things to different people.

“This song talks about yearning for that place called home. It is a dedication to everyone out there who is holding onto hope,” Molea said.

The young songstress said her passion for music has helped her find her purpose in life.

“Being on stage takes bravery and requires vulnerability. Through my singing from a young age, I can deliver as asked as I have been practising for years.”

Molea has a BA degree in drama and has been with The Lion King crew for five years.

Molea said she would not have been able to do half of the things she has done, had it not have been for her mother and her support.

“My mother motivates me. Her resilience in life is what I admire the most. Her passion and unconditional love and support she has given me is something I would not trade for anything; I would not be where I am if it was not for her,” she said.
