Police presence felt in Atteridgeville
MEC says last month there were 13 murders mostly related to taxi violence in Atteridgeville.

Police made their presence felt in Atteridgeville as they made various arrests and shut down three illegal taverns without liquor licences during operations over the weekend.
“Two suspects were arrested for dealing dagga on Saturday evening,” said Gauteng community safety MEC Faith Mazibuko, who led the operations.
In total, 20 illegal liquor outlets were shut down across the province during the operations.

Mazibuko said last month there were 13 murders mostly related to taxi violence in Atteridgeville.
Local informal settlements such as Phomolong and Brazzaville were problematic, especially with taxi violence while Kalafong Heights has a high rate of housebreaking.
More than 19 suspects were arrested in the area for driving while under the influence of alcohol, according to police spokesperson Kay Makhubele.
“Three undocumented foreign nationals were arrested during a roadblock where a number of vehicles were searched,” said Makhubele.
