Rain predicted for Thursday afternoon

Saturday will see a maximum of 22°C, with light showers expected to dominate throughout the day.

The SA Weather Service has predicted a wet weekend for Pretoria.

The rain comes as a welcome relief after the sweltering heat during the past few days.

Forecaster Edward Engelbrecht said a 60% chance of thunderstorms was predicted for Thursday afternoon going into the evening.

“For Friday, we are expecting temperatures to cool down to 28°C from Thursday’s 34°C.”

He said that Friday night’s thunderstorms will see temperatures plummet to the low 20s. “Saturday will see a maximum of 22°C, with light showers expected to dominate throughout the day,” Engelbrecht said.

He said that no rain was predicted for Sunday with temperatures peaking at 30°C.
