Man’s body found in Silvertondale sewage drain
Police believe the body may have been there for nearly two weeks.
A man’s body was discovered in a sewage drain in Silvertondale on Thursday morning.
The man is believed to be aged 25-30, and was discovered by a member of the public on Rustic Street around 10:30.
“He was wearing a blue and red T-shirt with Manhattan written on the front,” said police spokesperson Warrant Officer Isaac Mculu.
“The cause of death is still unknown as the matter is still under investigation.”
Mculu said the body may have been in the drain for nearly two weeks.
He appealed to members of the public who have missing loved ones to contact the Silverton police station on 012-845-4000.
