Temba police hold drug awareness event

“Addicts want to have money to buy drugs. As the police, we have to deal with those who continue to sell drugs in our society.”

Temba and Tshwane metro police as well as various other organisations held a drug awareness event on Wednesday.

It was held at Peacemaker Sports Ground in Stinkwater, north of Tshwane.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Herman Moremi said the community members were addressed about the danger of drugs and substance abuse.

He urged community members and leaders to help the police in fighting crimes such as this by identifying drug hotspots in the area and any other suspicious activities.

“Residents must take responsibility to know where their kids are at all times to reduce trafficking of drugs. They can use the Crime Stop line 08600-10111 or 112 free from any network.”

Police also distributed pamphlets to empower them with information about the danger of drugs at the event.
