‘Lovable’ security operator dies in accident
Bull security’s Jessica Coertse will be remembered for her master-mind problem-solving skills and lovable personality.
Bull security is mourning the death of one of their control room operators who was killed in a car accident on Saturday in Lynnwood Ridge.
Jessica Coertse (29) was on her way to work when the e-hailing vehicle she was driving in was involved in an accident on the corner of Lynnwood Road and January Masilela Drive.
“Saturday morning my control room contacted me to inform me that she was not at work yet. Now if you know Jessica, she was never late for work,” said Bull security spokesperson French Jooste.
“We couldn’t get hold of her on her cellphone. A few minutes later a towing company phoned into our control room informing us that there was a fatal accident, whereby one of our members was involved.
“I immediately dispatched our reaction manager Johan Liddle. Once Johan arrived on the scene he informed me that Jessica passed away in the accident,” Jooste said.

Jooste said this came as a big shock to staff members, especially the members who worked the same shift as her.
He said Coertse’s absence was felt in the control room.
“Jessica was an outgoing, lovable bundle of joy,” he said.
“Always positive towards any situation and a master in problem-solving. The clients were crazy about her personality.”
Jooste said in the few months she had been with the company, Coetse made a huge impact in the company’s client relations.
She was adored by clients, some of whom have expressed their sadness on a Facebook post announcing her death.

“Jessica was very new in our company, she was with us for only three months but the impact she made can’t be described in words,” Jooste said.
“She made a very big impact in a very small time.”
Sharing some fond memories, Jooste said Coertse’s personality stood out in her interview charming her way through it.
“She promised she wouldn’t disappoint us. I am so glad today I gave her a chance and fulfilled her dream. She was so special.
“Her shift members loved her. She was one amazing person. We truly lost a gem.”
Jooste said the exact circumstances around the accident were unknown, but police were investigating.
Coertse lived in Lynnwood and was married to her partner Yvonne Coertse.
She was laid to rest on Thursday in Vereeniging.
