Search for Luke the Beagle continues, R10 000 reward

Luke’s owner has not stopped looking for him since his disappearance in the north of Pretoria on 16 December 2020.

A resident of Theresa Park in the north of Pretoria is still looking for her lost dog months after his disappearance.

Soné Louw has offered a reward of R10 000 for the safe return of her five-year-old beagle named Luke.

Luke went missing from his home in Ystervark Street on 16 December last year.

“We were on holiday and my gardener left the gate open, which is how Luke got out of the yard. He was a research dog, so I suspect he has some mild brain damage.

“I wonder if that is the reason why he can’t find his way back home,” Louw told Rekord previously.

A Facebook page: Bring Luke Home, with more than 1 800 followers, was established in December and Louw (with the help of friends) regularly updates the page.

Louw and friends have been sharing posts of Luke on various pages and platforms all over Pretoria and even other provinces.

“Please do not think if you see a Beagle it can’t be Luke just because he went missing in Pretoria North. He can be anywhere,” Louw said on Facebook.

Louw told Rekord this week that even though Luke was missing for more than four months, she was not giving up hope.

“I know he is still out there.”

Unfortunately, Louw said she had been contacted by people trying to scam her and now she is being more careful when following up on possible leads to where Luke might be.

“There was a positive sighting at Klerksoord where three different people said they saw Luke,” said Louw.

“They described a certain characteristic or feature of Luke that no one else knew of.”

Louw has previously consulted with two animal communicators who have assured her he is still alive and probably lost.

“I believe they are telling the truth because they knew things about his medical history that only myself and the vet we take him to, know about.”

Louw said the “communication” was recently halted.

“We are trying to establish the area where Luke is, as the last sessions kept showing he was in the same place, indicating that he isn’t moving around.”

Drones were even used to try and locate Luke.

“He can be anywhere – in a veld, bushes or mountain,” said Louw.

She pleaded on social media with people to refrain from negative comments and to continue sharing posts about Luke.

Luke is a white Beagle with brown, and a little bit of black, on his back. He has long ears and his tail is half white to the tip and brown on the back.

If you see Luke, call or send a picture to Soné Louw on 067-409-2315.
