Gauteng residents will experience cold temperatures this coming weekend due to a secondary cold front.
The SA Weather Service said the secondary cold front will make landfall during Friday, causing rainfall and light snowfall over the Western Cape.
“Cold conditions will start to invade the central parts of the country during Friday with maximum temperatures dropping significantly to the mid-teens. These conditions are expected to reach KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Gauteng during Saturday and Sunday,” said forecaster Wayne Venter.
He said two successive cold fronts were expected in the Western Cape, with one reaching the northern regions of the country.
For both Saturday and Sunday, expect a high of 20 °C for Pretoria.
“We will continue to monitor any further developments relating to this weather system and will issue subsequent updates as required,” said the SA Weather Service.
