Olievenhoutbosch clinic forced to close due to protest
“It is not yet known what the community is aggrieved about.”
Olievenhoutbosch Clinic will be closed on Saturday 22 May from 08:00 until 13:00.
According to Lindela Mashigo, metro spokesperson, “this temporary suspension of services follows the unwarranted intimidation of clinic personnel by protesting members of the community which started today”.
“It is not yet known what the community is aggrieved about,” Mashigo said.
He said the metro was concerned about being forced to resort to suspension of its essential services, especially during the Covid pandemic.
“We are, however, compelled to temporarily shut down it to safeguard our staff and the facility,” Mashigo said. He said residents will be updated on developments in this respect.
