Cops host awareness campaign

The awareness campaign was conducted along Daan De Wet Nel Road, in Pretoria North.

Police in the Pretoria North policing precinct hosted an awareness campaign over tackling Covid-19 recently.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Tsakani Miyen said they also had a roadblock where they conducted vehicle check-point assessments.

“We handed out pamphlets to motorists with pointers on how to cope with the mental aspects of Covid-19,” she said.

The awareness campaign was conducted along Daan de Wet Nel Road, in Pretoria North, on Friday.

“We’re giving them tips on how to cope and tackle compromised mental health and other pointers related to safety while crossing the road,” Miyen said.

The pointers she offered for pedestrians and other road users alike when crossing the road, included not wearing earphones and wearing brightly coloured clothing.

“We also advise them to not use alcohol when using the roads and to always look in both directions before crossing the road,” she said.

The campaign, led by the Pretoria North police station commander was also conducted in conjunction with officers from Hercules and Wonderboompoort.
