The arrest came after the officers found the suspects were in possession of a 9mm pistol with armour-piercing rounds, drugs, signal jammer, knifes and several cellphones.
According to the spokesperson of Moot police, Captain Anton Breedt, the arrest followed after officers spotted a white BMW travelling slowly down Meyer Street in Wonderboom South, stopping in front of several homes in the street and then driving off again.
“The vehicle with two male occupants was pulled from the road after police found the actions of the men suspicious.
“While searching the suspects, police found a bag in the vehicle with a 9mm pistol with 13 rounds, nine of the rounds are armour piercing rounds, crystal meth and a signal jammer. Also inside the vehicle were four cellphones, several knifes, SIM cards and a tablet for which both men could not give answers to. They also could not produce a valid firearm licence,” Breedt said.
The men were placed under arrest.
Breedt added that the suspects will face charges of possession of unlicenced firearm and ammunition, drugs, telecommunication act (signal jammer) and possible stolen property.
They will appear in the Pretoria magistrate’s court soon.

“Both these suspects appeared in the Pretoria magistrate’s court on charges of possession of drugs,” concluded Breedt.
Acting station commander for Moot police station Lieutenant-Colonel William Suping applauded the members for their good work.
“The Moot police will continue the fight against drugs and unlawful firearms by all means to ensure the safety of the Moot community,” he said.
